In the region of Bangalore, India – where the allure of better pay and living conditions is high- it is no wonder that a man managed to trick a village into agreeing to the dream. Unfortunately, it is also no surprise what happened afterward; the man trafficked the entire village into the harsh realm of long hour labor and little pay. The villagers were herded to get rice, the only privacy found at the “bathroom” (a small patch of bushes), various injuries and medical issues, they quickly began to languish.

However, an International Justice Mission social worker witnessed the awful conditions, and on Monday, February 10, 2014, a case was made against the man in authority and a rescue team arrived. Many of the victims were not only released from bondage, but also received their legal documents to ensure government compensation to top off their newfound freedom.
