With shocking statistics about slavery around the world, London, Ontario, is no exception. With a boyfriend who abused, brainwashed, and isolated her from friends and family, Stacy had no one to turn to. She lived with physical abuse from clients, sexual assaults, and at one point, endured all her toes being broken. Stacy was trapped in trafficking for eight years.
Eventually, with no plan and no certainty, she fled a life that was killing her and made it to a shelter where she was rescued and began to rebuild. Now, four years later, she’s telling her story. She’s healing, involved in the community, and helping educate and fundraise in regard to human trafficking and the necessity of shelters.
